christmas lights

The days are flying by,  and the Christmas season is quickly approaching!  I’m enjoying these beautiful fall days by decorating for Christmas outdoors.  It’s nice to get the lights all out while it’s still warm outside and enjoy the beautiful fall colors of the trees while listening to the hums from the equipment of the farmers working in nearby fields.  And no worries,  I do not turn my lights on until the day after Thanksgiving, it’s just really nice to have this job done early so I can enjoy fall and Thanksgiving.

A few things that are so helpful while outside decorating is my telescoping pole, my Light Keeper Pro and lots and lots of lights!

If you don’t have the Light Keeper Pro, you must get one!  It really works, and works well.  It’s always so frustrating when you pull out a strand of lights, only to have 1/2 of the strand light up.  This little tool clips onto the light socket, give it a couple clicks (or sometimes more) and it fixes the strand.  I’ve had such success with this little tool and it’s always handy while I’m working.  Please remember, it won’t fix every strand.  Sometimes there is just nothing you can do to revive it, but this tool does work well and I’m so pleased with it!

The telescoping pole is great for reaching tall sections of trees you are working on.  We have a lot of evergreens so using this tool is so helpful.  It’s sturdy and it’s a must have!  It’s much better than dragging a ladder outside and moving it constantly trying to put lights on the tree.  (this was given to me as a gift and I’m SO thankful for it!)

And finally, lots and lots of lights!  Clear, colored, whatever makes you happy!

Happy Decorating!  Do you have something that helps you?  I’d love to hear about it!  Leave me a comment below!!
