School is out for summer, but learning can continue in fun ways! One thing we like to do around here is write stories and illustrate them. I’m going to give the children a list of words that have to do with summer and encourage them to use every word to create a story and draw pictures to go along with the words. They can work on a little bit each day and at the end of the week, they will read their version to the family and show their pictures. It’s FUN and they are learning writing skills, reading skills and being creative. Want to play along? I’d love to hear what your children come up with…share in the comments below!

Here is our list of words for this week:

June — July — August — party — bonfire — hot

sun — pool — picnic — friends — summer — park

fun — popsicle — cookout — floatie — run — games

lightning bugs — sidewalk chalk

Here is a template for your children to use if you would like!

Have a Joyful Day!
